County wage charts · effective June 14, 2026 · transcribed from RFP pages 9 to 15

Every grade and every title on the County's three published charts

The RFP attaches the County's FY27 wage charts: a 30-grade non-nursing scale, a 9-grade licensed nursing scale and a 6-grade corrections scale, each with twelve hourly steps. They are scanned images in the RFP; we typed every figure and checked each row's step pattern for misreads.

What the charts show

  • Every grade on all three charts has twelve steps. Steps rise by an equal dollar amount, about 3.2% of step 1 each, so a 12-step range runs about 36% from bottom to top.
  • Step 1 of each grade sits a median 4.6% above the grade below on the non-nursing chart, 8.5% on the nursing chart and 4.1% on the corrections chart.
  • Grades with no titles: non-nursing 22, 19, 16, 5, 1; nursing 8. Open grades leave room to place new or regraded positions.
  • One irregular step: non-nursing grade 24 runs $44.27, $45.25, $46.76. Every other step on every chart moves by a near-constant amount; here the first step is $0.98 instead of about $1.51. It may be deliberate. The audit will ask.
  • The RFP says the County operates four pay plans and attaches three charts. We will confirm the fourth plan, and which union contracts set pay for which titles, at kickoff.

What the audit will test

Whether 12 equal-dollar steps still suit each group; whether step 1 still hires in the North Country labor market; how far the grades overlap; whether supervisors start far enough above the people they lead; and where positions created or changed since 2021 belong. Each question ends as a finding with a number and a recommended range.
